Welcome to Psyched For Golf High Performance Mental Coaching

Lee Crombleholme is a mental skills coach who has built a great reputation for helping golfers of every level improve their golf and reach their potential.
The chances are you practice your golf on a regular basis, whether it be a specific practice schedule working on technique, or by simply playing. You might even visit the gym regularly to build strength, stamina and speed.
If we consider the brain to be a muscle, how often do you train this?
Club golfers who use some form of golf psychology have an average
handicap that is 4 shots lower than those who don't

When you want to improve your sport performance you really need to change the way you approach the game. The simple fact is, all good athletes in whatever sport, are strong mentally.
Whether you are a professional or play for fun, your performance is a result of your habits and patterns. These thought and behavioural patterns are often self limiting. Without changing these, your performances will not change or improve.
Golf is better enjoyed when you play great. Mental skills encourage confidence and consistency.

A visit to the McEvoy Trophy at Copt Heath saw all four Psyched For Golf clients make the cut. The greens were bumpy and the weather poor, but those are not controllable! Special praise to Richard Pickard (7th) and U16 player Oliver Carr (23rd), both in their first McEvoy Trophy. Tom Boys (19th) and Josh Evans (37th) both did well too. A great season on the amateur circuit lies ahead for this talented crop of youngsters.

Having turned professional in November 2008 Thomas Curtis took the bold step of playing the mini tours in Florida to get some experience. Before Christmas his results we just okay. Having met with Lee before returning he had a new mind-set. First event back 6th, second event won by 3 shots! Nice

September 2008
After starting to work on his mental strength Richard Pickard went on an amazing 6 week run of form which saw his handicap reduce from 3 to +1. This run even surprised me! but illustrates what can be achieved when a player plays without limits
August 2008
Great to see new Psyched For Golf player Oliver Carr win the Cheshire U15's title. He also equaled the course record at Wirral Ladies Golf Club to reduce his handicap to 1.
Worsley Marriott's John Cheetham won the Lancashire Open at Blackpool North Shore. The Psyched For Golf player shot rounds of 67 and 66 (-9) to win his biggest event yet by 1 shot
Nick Soto from Northamptonshire County Golf Club is the new Midlands Assistants Champion. After shooting rounds of 72 and 71 (-3) the Psyched For Golf player was in a play-off with two others. Nick birdied all three play-off holes to win his first title. Fantastic!
Well done to Tom Boys for performing so well in the Boys Home Internationals (not named in honour of him!) He was top points scorer for England on his debut at Royal County Down.
July 2008
Very well done to Simon Wakefield for his fantastic performance in the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. Simon was very relaxed going into the last round in the second to last group. He played fantastic from tee to green all week. His tee shot on the 17th went straight at his target, but the wind did not move it and amazingly, he never found his ball. Still, a great week from a player who is really going places.
June 2008
Simon Wakefield birdied 3 of the last 4 at the Austrian Open to finish 2nd on his own. Mental toughness is necessary to finish so strongly when you are seeking your first European Tour win. On this form it shouldn't be far away!
May 2008
Lee S James had been finding it hard to hole putts so far on the European Tour. Having done some work with Lee at the 2008 Irish Open at the beautiful Adare Manor he finished 16th earning over 30000 euro.
Congratulations to Tom Boys from Royal Liverpool who won the Fairhaven Trophy which is a major scratch national junior championship. I watched Tom play his front nine during day 1 as he shot -3, he then shot -4 on the back nine. Tom was 14 under par after 72 holes and won by 7 shots!
Well done to Oliver Pantoja who's scoring on The Players Tour was not reflecting his ability. He was consistently shooting in the low 80's when he decided to do something about it. He contacted Psyched For Golf and after just two sessions posted a 74 at Denton GC Players Tour event, then next time out shot a 70 (-1) at Ringway GC to take the amateur prize and also be the first amateur to shoot under par. Very good for a 4 handicap player with a bright future! Being pro-active really helps improvement.
April 2008
Simon Wakefield came back under the Psyched For Golf wing this month following a disappointing start to his 2008 European Tour campaign. He worked with Lee during the 2002 Challenge Tour season when he enjoyed his first win and got promoted to the European Tour. After his first session back with Psyched For Golf he had his first top 20 finish of 2008 at the BMW Asian Open in China.
Andrew Butterfield finished 11th at the AGF-Allianz Open Côtes d'Armor Bretagne in France, his best finish so far on the 2008 Challenge Tour. A win is surely just around the corner.
Well done to John Pasicznyk for reducing his handicap by 3 shots at the start of the season. John had been playing better in friendly rounds compared to competitions (very common in amateurs) so he took the bull by the horns and booked a Psyched For Golf program that is instantly proving successful.
